Cookie Policy

This page explains what UptimeWarrior stores in your browser and why. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics, and no cookie we set carries an identifier that could tell you apart from anyone else.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information between page loads.
Our Cookies
We set at most two cookies. The first is strictly necessary: without it you cannot sign in. The second is only set in the case described below it.

How arrived_from works
- When it is set: only when you arrive on one of our public pages from another website, or through a link carrying a campaign tag (
reforutm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign). Typing our address or using a bookmark sets nothing. It is set once and never overwritten by a later visit. - What it holds: the name of the website that linked to us (for example
example.com, never the address of the page), the page you arrived on, those tags, and the date. If you followed the link at the bottom of one of our customers' public status pages, it also holds that status page's address, which the link carries asfrom. Nothing that identifies you or your device: two people following the same link get the same cookie. - When it is not set: while you are signed in, on public status pages themselves (only following their link to our site can set it), and when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
- What happens to it: nobody reads it but us, and we only read it if you create an account. Then what it holds is saved with your account (see our Privacy Policy) and the cookie is deleted. If you never sign up, it expires on its own.
Stored in Your Browser
Two preferences are kept in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to our server, and they stay until you clear this site's data.

Stripe Payment Pages
No page on our site loads anything from Stripe. When you sign up for a paid plan or subscribe from the Billing page, we send you to Stripe's checkout page on checkout.stripe.com, where Link sells you the subscription; managing your subscription opens Stripe's billing portal. Those are Stripe's own pages, on Stripe's domains. Any cookies they set are set by Stripe, for example to process the payment securely and prevent fraud, and fall under the Stripe Cookie Policy; we do not control them.
No Third-Party Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising networks, social media pixels, or any other third-party tracking technologies.
Managing Cookies
You can control cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking our session cookie will prevent you from signing in and using the service. Blocking arrived_from changes nothing about how the site works. Blocking Stripe's cookies may stop Stripe's checkout page from working. Clearing local storage only resets your light or dark choice and brings the cookie notice back.
